NickTrend sets no cookies while you browse. It runs no analytics and no advertising, so there is no tracking cookie to accept or refuse. This page lists the few cases where a cookie or browser storage can appear, what each does and how to clear it.

What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Cookies let a site remember a few choices so it behaves consistently the next time you visit.
What NickTrend does and does not use
- No analytics cookies. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager and no other measurement script on the site.
- No advertising cookies. No ad network, remarketing pixel or social tracking pixel is loaded.
- No cookies for ordinary browsing. Opening pages, using the generator and copying names sets no cookie.
| What | When it appears | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Comment-details cookies | Only if a comment form is open and you tick the box that remembers your details | Pre-fills your name and email next time; leaving the box unticked sets none |
| Staff login cookies | Only when a site editor logs in to WordPress | Keeps the editor signed in; visitors never receive them |
| Local storage: colour scheme | After you choose light or dark | Remembers your choice; stays on your device and is not a cookie |
| Local storage: favourites | After you tap the heart on a nickname | Keeps your favourites after a reload; never sent to us |
| Local storage: saved articles | After you tap Save on an article | Keeps your reading list on your device; never sent to us |
How to control cookies and stored data
Every modern browser lets you view, delete and block cookies and site data from its settings menu. Clearing site data for nicktrend.com removes your favourites, saved articles and colour choice, and nothing changes on our side because we never held a copy. Private or Incognito browsing discards all of it when you close the window.
How long they last
Comment-details cookies last until they expire or you delete them; WordPress sets them for up to a year. Staff login cookies end when the editor logs out or the session expires. Local storage stays until you clear it.
Embedded services and the network layer
The site is served through a content delivery network that also filters malicious traffic, and our server writes ordinary access logs for security and uptime. What those logs hold, and what is sent to the name-generation provider, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
